Having suffered total environmental collapse at the hands of her dominant species, Earth is now uninhabitable. And not just Earth: every planet in the Sol system that had previously been terraformed has since been abandoned.

In reality they don't like to think about how the story of the little blue dot ended, but there is no ignoring the inevitability of human ambition and greed, not when the home planet of the now-dominant species in the Milky Way galaxy has been reduced to a trash heap that even Junkers avoid.
